Fundação Calouste Gulbenkian (CGF)

Portugal
The Galouste Gulbenkian Foundation (GGF) is an international foundation, based in Portugal, which promotes the development of individuals and organizations, through art, science, education, and charity, for a more equitable and sustainable society.
We promote knowledge, scientific research, and greater participation and involvement of citizens and civil society in building more sustainable communities.
The Foundation includes a museum, an arts centre, an orchestra and choir, an art library and archive, and a scientific research institute.
The Foundation also develops innovative programmes and projects and supports, through scholarships and grants, social institutions and organisations in Portugal, the United Kingdom and France, as well as in Portuguese-speaking African countries (PALOP) and in the Armenian communities.
As of October 1, 2024, the Gulbenkian Institute of Science (IGC) and the Institute of Molecular Medicine (IMM) have legally merged to create the Gulbenkian Institute for Molecular Medicine (GIMM).
After six decades of invaluable contributions to science and society, the IGC has thus closed a chapter. With a unique historical legacy, the IGC now joins forces with the IMM, resulting in a new center of excellence in the Portuguese scientific landscape, the GIMM. The Gulbenkian Institute for Molecular Medicine (GIMM) is a research institute pioneering groundbreaking research from fundamental discoveries to innovative healthcare solutions. Our mission is to push the boundaries of scientific knowledge and improve global health and well-being.
