National Center for Metallurgical Research (CENIM-CSIC)
Spain
The Centro Nacional de Investigaciones Metalúrgicas, CENIM is the only thematic Research Institute of the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC) dedicated to the study of the entire metal value chain. It was established in 1963.
CENIM’s mission is to gain a deep understanding of the nature of metallic materials by conducting basic and applied research aimed at furthering knowledge of their entire life cycle (extraction, design, production, transformation, in-service behaviour, protection and recycling), thanks to a team of scientists and support staff specialising in the most innovative metallic materials. We seek to develop high value-added products that respond to social challenges in health, the environment, energy, mobility, natural resources, inclusive societies, etc.
