The Centro de Investigaciones Científicas Isla de La Cartuja (cicCartuja) is a non-profit public institution, whose main objective is the creation of knowledge and the improvement of the quality of life of citizens through scientific and technical research.
Located in the Science and Technology Park of Seville (PCT Cartuja), and founded in 1995 by agreement of the Andalusian Regional Government, the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC) and the University of Seville (US), cicCartuja houses three joint institutes of the CSIC and the US.
