Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (UPM)
Spain
The Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (UPM) is a public university that was founded in 1971 with the integration of the Higher Technical Schools that until then made up the Higher Polytechnic Institute. The following year, the University Schools were added.
However, the origin of the institution goes back much further in time. The teachings of most of the Centres were established during the reign of Charles III, in the 18th century, and for years, these Schools were practically the only ones in our country linked to the teaching of Architecture and Engineering.
