The Universidad Católica de Santiago de Guayaquil (UCSG) is a Catholic institution of higher education located in the city of Guayaquil, Ecuador. UCSG was created on May 17, 1962, at the request of the pro-Catholic university board chaired by Mons. César Antonio Mosquera Corral, Archbishop of Guayaquil, the jurist Dr. Leonidas Ortega Moreira and Father Joaquín Flor Vásconez S.J., who were its founding authorities.
