The Scientific Agricultural Society of Finland acts as a link between research scientists and other bodies utilizing scientific information within agriculture. The society was founded in 1909 and at present it has around 500 members. The Society is run by an executive council of 5 members. The society organizes meetings on relevant issues concerning plant and animal production, agricultural economics and technology, and horticulture. The society involves expert groups in all these areas to guarantee the high scientific level of the society functions. Foreign lecturers are invited to the meetings.
