20/03/2019 The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and the Center for Agribusiness and Rural Development (CARD) organized a business to business (B2B) event today in Tbilisi which focused on enhancing market linkages in the dairy sectors of Armenia and Georgia. More than 50 farmers, veterinarians and agricultural input suppliers from Georgia, Armenia and other countries attended.

More than 10 million USD will advance food and nutrition security and sustainable agricultural livelihoods through projects in Africa, the Middle East, and Asia
On 1 March 2019, the Government of Japan confirmed an additional voluntary contribution of 10 268 749 USD to FAO’s work. Specifically, these funds will allow for the implementation of 19 humanitarian and development projects in Sub-Saharan Africa, the Middle East and North Africa, and Asia, advancing food and nutrition security in the partner countries, restoring and strengthening livelihoods in areas affected by social, environmental, and economic crises, and promoting sustainable agricultural practices, resources management and productivity. From 26-28 February 2019, China hosted an international workshop on pesticide risk management with an agroecological based Integrated Pest Management approach.
