Strengthening technical support to countries in the context of the SDGs

Much progress has been made in developing more programmatic approaches to support FAO action in countries. The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and the SDGs are increasingly becoming the reference for country planning and resources allocation. The guiding document ‘Transforming food and agriculture to achieve the SDGs’ has been prepared in that perspective. It organizes FAO’s fields of expertise in an integrated manner into 20 inter-connected action areas, linking them to the SDGs, and offering a way to operationalize FAO’s Strategic Objectives.
