Antimicrobial resistance (AMR) occurs when germs, such as bacteria, develop resistance to drugs. With increased antibiotics use, and resistance in livestock, humans, who are the final consumers, are likely to face adverse effects from both the antibiotics and germs. Therefore, AMR studies are of global concern in ensuring food security.
