The School Feeding Network was launched in 2018 as part of a joint agreement between Brazilian Cooperation, the National Fund for Education Development (FNDE), and the Brazilian Cooperation Agency (ABC), with technical support and executive secretariat from FAO. Context

With the objective of promoting production systems that support food and nutritional security through innovative, resilient, sustainable, and efficient approaches, the XVII Meeting of the Commission on Livestock Development for Latin America and the Caribbean (CODEGALAC) will be held from 16 to 18 July 2025 in Guatemala City.

Supported and coordinated by the Technical Secretariat of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), the meeting will be attended by Member States of the Commission, representatives of the United Nations and its specialized agencies, as well as experts and observers.

Additionally, to foster dialogue on financing mechanisms for sustainable livestock development in the region, the event will include the First Sustainable Livestock Investment Forum in Latin America and the Caribbean, with the participation of cooperation entities from both public and private sectors.

This meeting follows up on the recommendations of the 38th FAO Regional Conference for Latin America and the Caribbean, as well as those from the XVI CODEGALAC Meeting, held in 2023 in Quito, Ecuador.
