FAO Regional Office for Europe and Central Asia

Regional workshop on gender & livestock

Hybrid Event, 06/11/2019 - 07/11/2019

The workshop will improve knowledge of specific gender issues emerging in livestock farming, through the lessons learnt from FAO experience and region-specific cases, and will help identify practical solutions, by building capacities to integrate gender issues to the project design, implementation and monitoring of the livestock programming, thus, benefiting both rural women and men; improving effectiveness of FAO development interventions; and supporting the SDG implementation.

The workshop is part of FAO’s continuous efforts to raise awareness and enhance capacities to better understand gender equality concerns and address them at their work, as “Leave no one behind’ principle of the 2030 Agenda. This workshop builds on the outcomes of the FAO Regional gender mainstreaming workshop held on 18-19 October 2018 in Ankara, and responds to the Regional gender equality strategy and action plan for Europe and Central Asia, 2019-2022 approved earlier this year.
