Deputy Regional Representative: Raimund Jehle
Raimund Jehle, FAO Deputy Regional Representative for Europe and Central Asia, was appointed in January 2016. He has a wealth of experience in a wide range of areas at the United Nations and the European Commission.
Raimund Jehle, a national of Germany, has a PhD in agricultural economics.
Jehle has more than 30 years’ experience in the agriculture sector. Prior to joining FAO, he was a farmer, held several positions in academia and worked as a consultant for the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Economic and Financial Affairs in Brussels.
Since joining FAO in 1999, he has served in various positions at FAO headquarters in Rome and, as of 2007, in the Regional Office for Europe and Central Asia in Hungary including several senior positions.
Parallel to his current position, since 2016 he is serving as multi-accredited FAO Representative in Albania, Armenia, Georgia and Republic of Moldova.
