Application of land banking instruments in Europe and Central Asia

The objective of the webinar is to promote good land banking practices and their practical application in countries of Eastern Europe and Central Asia with specific focus on the development of small family farms and providing access to land for young farmers. Speakers will highlight how land banking instruments can contribute to sustainable agriculture and rural development at the policy level, and improve farm structure, productivity and competitiveness of small family farms at the field level.
The FAO is finalizing a study on European good practices on land policy instruments with particular focus on land banking. The webinar is part of the consultation to validate the key recommendations of the draft study.
The session will also support the application and implementation of the Voluntary Guidelines on the Responsible Governance of Tenure (VGGT).
