FAO Regional Office for Europe and Central Asia

Identifying low carbon and climate resilient pathways for the ruminant sector in the selected countries of Central Asia (02/10/2019)

Hybrid Event, 02/10/2019

The objectives of the workshop is to assess knowledge and practices in the field of sustainable livestock and pasture management, as well as to identify the missing data for the formulation of state policy in the field of sustainable livestock, taking into account its impact on climate and the importance of adaptation to climate change.

The workshop will bring together different stakeholders to enhance the dialogue among policymakers, representatives of civil society organizations and researchers from the region. Participants will have an opportunity to familiarize themselves with the availability of information necessary to formulate public policies and international projects for the development of sustainable livestock production and identify potential sources of missing data. The output of this workshop will be complemented and analyzed at a regional workshop in January 2020 and used to write project proposals to finance support for climate-resilient and environmentally friendly livestock.
