Policy webinar: Promoting the investment of remittances in Moldovan agribusinesses 2.

Hybrid Event, 14/06/2022

14:00 – 15:30 (CEST)

The FAO Global Forum on Food Security and Nutrition (FSN Forum) is pleased to invite you to the policy webinar “Designing public programmes to promote investment of family remittances in the development of small and medium agribusiness: the experience of the PARE 1+1 Programme in the Republic of Moldova”, jointly organized by FAO and the National Platform of Women from the Republic of Moldova.

Since 2010, the Programme for Attracting Remittances into the Economy (PARE 1+1) has successfully supported 1 750 enterprises – the majority being from rural areas – with matching grants and technical support to promote the development of businesses among labour migrants and their first-degree relatives.

Based on the good practices and lessons learned from PARE 1+1, this webinar focuses on developing public programmes – from design to monitoring and evaluation – to channel remittances into sustainable investment of small and medium-sized agribusinesses.

Iulia Costin, Senior Expert at the National Platform and main designer of PARE 1+1, will present the rationale and the general operational mechanism of the programme, and discuss its impact and replicability.

This Zoom webinar will be held in English with French interpretation.
