Project Closing Seminar

Hybrid Event, 05/07/2017

The National Project Closing Seminar of the project “Technical assistance for using wood energy to improve sustainable economic rural development and meet the 2020 renewable energy targets for the Western Balkans” will be held on 5 July 2017. The project is financed by FAO and implemented in cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The project aims at providing support to the government of Bosnia and Herzegovina to improve the professional capacity of staff in forest administration on wood energy issues, to overcome the existing data and information gaps on woody biomass potentials and woodfuel consumption, and to contribute to reaching national targets for the participation of renewable energy sources in total final energy consumption by 2020.

The main objective of the National Project Closing Seminar is to present the comprehensive final national report on the current wood-energy supply and demand in Bosnia and Herzegovina, to raise awareness on wood energy issues, and to receive feedback from participants in order to see the possibility of any potential follow-up activities.
