Greater use of sustainably sourced wood could help reposition the construction sector from a major greenhouse gas emitter to a driver of climate change mitigation, according to a new report from FAO and Bauhaus Earth.

The project will strengthen financial inclusion for organizations that represent smallholders, rural women’s groups, local communities and Indigenous Peoples’ institutions.

The European Forestry Commission will meet in Istanbul, Türkiye, from 22 to 25 October to review and coordinate regional strategies on forests and the forest industry, with a specific focus on innovation.
