Support for a forestry cooperative in setting up a PAM nursery

As part of its efforts to promote the sustainable use of natural resources and local industries, the FAO has supported the establishment of a nursery for the propagation of aromatic and medicinal plants (AMP) for the benefit of the Idiwane forestry cooperative, located in the municipality of Nzala, Midelt province. 

Methane Project

Training workshop on methane emissions in the agricultural sector and field visit to a dairy farm that has installed a biodigester. This facility enables the production of biogas from animal waste, providing a concrete example of an innovative solution for recycling livestock manure and reducing methane emissions.

ARC33 April 18–20, 2024 + visit by the Director-General of the FAO

Visit by FAO Director-General Qu Dongyu to Rabat, Morocco, on the occasion of the 33rd session of the FAO Regional Conference for Africa (ARC33) from April 18 to 20, 2024.

Aquaculture Project

Visit to mussel farming facilities and submersible cages off the coast of Sidi Ifni, as well as the Sidi Ifni Maritime Professional Qualification Center (CQPM) as part of the project to support the development of aquaculture professions in Morocco (2024).

FAO-FISA cooperation project

Following the Al Haouz earthquake, FAO and FISA supported 250 rural women who raise free-range chickens through a project that included poultry recovery, equipment provision, and capacity building. This initiative helped restore their livelihoods and improve their resilience.
