On 25 November 2021, FAO and the Government of Australia signed a new USD 1 009 710 (equal to AUD 1 300 000) agreement to support the Flexible Multi-Partner Mechanism (FMM), FAO’s main fund for channelling and managing less-earmarked resources to strengthen the achievement of the Organization’s Strategic Objectives.

In order to promote some of the work FAO has been undertaking in partnership with civil society organizations (CSOs), the CSO Partnerships team of the FAO Partnerships and UN Collaboration Division has been putting together a small series of short publications, highlighting some of the successful collaborations of recent years. In the first week of October 2021, the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) in Tanzania, organized a workshop for Farmers and Forest Producers Organizations (FFPOs) in Tanzania. On 9 December 2021, the Flexible Multi-Partner Mechanism (FMM) launched FAO’s first-ever digital field trip targeted towards FMM Resource Partners - Belgium, Flanders, France, Italy, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Sweden and Switzerland.
