The Technical Regional Platform for Family Farming, lead by Food and Agriculture Organization for the United Nations (FAO), has promoted, since 2023, the Cycle of Technical Exchanges as a space for dialogue, cooperation and learning between countries in Latin America and the Caribbean and other regions.

Mr. Rene Orellana Halkyer was appointed by the FAO Director-General, QU Dongyu, as Assistant Director-General and Regional Representative for Latin America and the Caribbean, effective 1 November 2025.
