Région du Comité FAO/OMS de coordination pour l'Asie (CCASIA) - Coordonnateur régional: Japon

Le Comité de coordination pour l’Asie a été créé lors de la onzième session de la Commission du Codex Alimentarius qui s’est déroulée à Rome (Italie) en juillet 1976. La première session du Comité a eu lieu à New Delhi (Inde) en janvier 1977.

Le coordinateur régional opère au sein du ministère de l'Agriculture, des Forêts et de la Pêche du Japon.

Le Japon, en tant que coordinateur régional pour l'Asie, vise à poursuivre les objectifs suivants tout en respectant les valeurs fondamentales du Codex, à savoir l'inclusion, la collaboration, la recherche de consensus et la transparence.

  • Favoriser la collaboration et la coordination au sein de la région en facilitant l'échange de points de vue, afin que les membres asiatiques puissent être bien informés et participer efficacement à la Commission et à ses organes subsidiaires ; et,
  • Promouvoir des discussions ouvertes et constructives au sein du Comité de coordination régional pour identifier les problèmes actuels, émergents et critiques concernant la protection de la santé des consommateurs et la garantie de pratiques équitables dans le commerce des denrées alimentaires dans la région, et pour traiter ces problèmes en temps opportun.

World Food Safety Day / India dairy promotes awareness and eloquence

Republic of Korea celebrates its 25th food safety day

In 2002, the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety (MFDS) of the Republic of Korea designated 14 May as Food Safety Day, and has celebrated the Day every year since to raise public awareness and understanding of food safety and to build social consensus on its importance. The 6th Global Conference on Foodborne AMR successfully held in Seoul, highlighting the achievements of the ACT Project

The 6th Global Conference on Foodborne Antimicrobial Resistance (GCFA) was successfully held on 13 May 2026 in Seoul, Republic of Korea. As part of activities related to World Food Safety Day, Japan Food Safety Management Association (JFSM) conducted a lecture and workshop at Visayas State University in the Philippines. CTF / New success story from the Maldives shows a strengthened national food safety system

A new Success Story published by WHO and FAO demonstrates how support from the Codex Trust Fund (CTF) has helped the Maldives strengthen its national food safety system and improve its effective participation in Codex work.
