Global Forum on Food Security and Nutrition (FSN Forum)

In the context of the development of the Voluntary Code of Conduct (VCoC) on the sustainable use of plastics in agriculture,FAO's Office of Climate Change, Biodiversity and Environment is carrying out inclusive and geographically representative consultations with a wide range of stakeholders. This Call for submissions has been envisioned as a key component of the consultation process to allow a wide range of participants around a globe and across sectors to contribute their inputs towards the development of the VCoC.

The FAO Chief Scientist Office invites stakeholders to share illustrative country level case studies of agrifood system technologies and innovations for climate action. This call is in the context of the upcoming FAO Science and Innovation Forum 2023 under the umbrella of the global World Food Forum. Following a review and selection of the submissions, the most impactful, innovative and relevant case studies will be showcased at SIF 2023 and participants will be invited to present them in October 2023.

2024 marks the 20th anniversary of the adoption of the Voluntary Guidelines to Support the Progressive Realization of the Right to Adequate Food in the Context of National Food Security. This Call for submissions is a joint event of the FAO Right to Food Team and the Committee on World Food Security (CFS) and will help inform on efforts made to realize the right to adequate food at local, national, regional or global level, and provide an important stock taking opportunity for countries and their people.

The Committee on World Food Security (CFS) has consistently encouraged stakeholders to voluntarily share their experiences and good practices in applying CFS policy products through reporting individual (direct) experiences by one group of stakeholders or through reporting the results of multi-stakeholder consultations or events (organized to discuss experiences) by several groups of stakeholders. 

A global thematic event (GTE) will be organized during the October 2022 Plenary Session of the Committee on World Food Security (CFS) to share experiences and good practices in the use and application of the CFS Principles for Responsible Investment in Agriculture and Food Systems (CFS-RAI) endorsed in 2014. The CFS invites stakeholders to share their experiences and good practices in applying the CFS-RAI by 15 April 2022 to inform the GTE.

A monitoring event is planned to be organized during the October 2021 Plenary Session of the Committee on World Food Security (CFS) to share experiences and good practices in the use and application of two sets of policy recommendations: "Food Security and Climate Change" and "Water for Food Security and Nutrition". The CFS invites stakeholders to provide input on their experiences in using and applying any of these policy recommendations.

This Call for Action aims to capture and recognise the commitment, responsibility, and efforts of agricultural stakeholders in addressing child labour in agriculture, and to build momentum towards more concerted action at local, national and global level.

The Committee on World Food Security (CFS) invites stakeholders to share their experiences in the use and application of the CFS policy recommendations on smallholder agriculture.
