The Committee on World Food Security (CFS) has consistently encouraged stakeholders to voluntarily share their experiences and good practices in applying CFS policy products through reporting individual (direct) experiences by one group of stakeholders or through reporting the results of multi-stakeholder consultations or events (organized to discuss experiences) by several groups of stakeholders.

Esta consulta es solicitada por la Oficina de Jefes Científicos de la FAO y tiene como objetivo identificar y comprender mejor las barreras y oportunidades para los científicos y otros poseedores de conocimientos. Los resultados servirán de base para la elaboración de orientaciones destinadas a reforzar las interfaces científico-normativas, así como los procesos de políticas basados en datos científicos y en hechos comprobados para los sistemas agroalimentarios, ayudando a garantizar que se tomen decisiones sobre políticas eficaces basadas en datos científicos y objetivos suficientes, pertinentes y creíbles.
CFS High Level Ministerial Event at Expo Dubai - Food Systems Transformation in Action: The CFS Voluntary Guidelines on Food Systems and Nutrition
Organized by CFS in collaboration with the Government of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and the FAO Regional Office for Near East and North Africa at the MENA Agri-Food Innovation Days at Expo Dubai, the high level event will:
- Raise awareness about the CFS Voluntary Guidelines on Food Systems and Nutrition (VGFSN) and mobilize policy and political commitments by governments, donors, civil society, private sector, and others for further promotion and implementation of the VGFSN and other flagship CFS policy guidelines, especially within national food system transition pathways linked to the 2021 UN Food Systems Summit.
- Showcase UAE’s global and regional leadership on sustainable food systems including championing the utilization of CFS Voluntary Guidelines on Food Systems and Nutrition.

Digital agriculture report: Rural e-commerce development experience from China
The ‘Digital Agriculture Report: Rural E-commerce Development—Experience from China’, produced by FAO and Zhejiang University, has been officially released. The publication examines how rural e-commerce could advance the digital transformation of agri-food systems, including increasing production efficiency, expanding farmers’ market access, improving poverty alleviation, fostering agricultural entrepreneurship, and attracting young generations back to their villages for economic revival and rural revitalization.
It is highlighted that an enabling ecosystem with favourable government policies and strategies, public-private partnerships and innovative business models is of great importance to accelerate the development of rural areas in China, and generate larger economic, social and environmental impacts. As the largest developing country in the world, the experience of digital agriculture transformation in China could be shared with other developing countries.
The report also discusses some of the challenges encountered and lessons learned during the development of rural e-commerce, as well as the proposals for the way forward.

Consulta para la elaboración de las Directrices voluntarias del CSA sobre la igualdad de género y el empoderamiento de las mujeres y las niñas en el contexto de la seguridad alimentaria y la nutrición
Para orientar los avances en materia de igualdad de género y empoderamiento de las mujeres y las niñas, el CSA, en su 46º período de sesiones de octubre de 2019, decidió elaborar las Directrices voluntarias del CSA sobre la igualdad de género y el empoderamiento de las mujeres y las niñas en el contexto de la seguridad alimentaria y la nutrición. El CSA invita ahora a todos los actores implicados en la lucha contra la inseguridad alimentaria y la malnutrición a aportar sus comentarios sobre el Borrador cero de las Directrices.

Durante la sesión plenaria de octubre de 2022 del Comité de Seguridad Alimentaria Mundial (CSA) se organizará un acto temático mundial para compartir experiencias y buenas prácticas en el uso y aplicación de Principios del CSA para la inversión responsable en la agricultura y los sistemas alimentarios (Principios CSA-IRA) aprobados en 2014. El CSA invita a las partes interesadas a compartir sus experiencias y buenas prácticas en la aplicación de los Principios CSA-IRA antes del 15 de abril de 2022 para servir de fundamento al acto temático mundial.

Decenio de las Naciones Unidas de Acción sobre la Nutrición (2016-2025): acciones prioritarias para los próximos cinco años
Como parte del proceso de revisión de mitad de período del Decenio de la Nutrición, la Secretaría conjunta de la Organización de las Naciones Unidas para la Alimentación y la Agricultura (FAO) y la Organización Mundial de la Salud (OMS) del Decenio de la Nutrición ha revisado los progresos realizados durante los años 2016-2020 y sugiere un plan para el período 2021-2025. La Secretaría de Nutrición de las Naciones Unidas invita a las partes interesadas y al público en general a aportar su opinión sobre las áreas de interés propuestas para la acción prioritaria dentro de cada una de las seis áreas de acción para los próximos cinco años del Decenio de la Nutrición.
WEBINAR - Public purse under pressure: current challenges and the future of government spending on food and agriculture in sub-Saharan Africa
FAO's Monitoring and Analysing Food and Agricultural Policies (MAFAP) programme will host a special webinar to mark the launch of a new report on public expenditure on food and agriculture in sub-Saharan Africa. The webinar will focus on the main findings of MAFAP economic analyses, revealing top trends and current challenges in expenditure on food and agriculture in 13 sub-Saharan countries, while underscoring the role policy monitoring plays in helping governments to spend wisely for farmers, consumers and food security. Experts will offer their perspectives and policy priorities for the way forward on better public spending on food and agriculture.
The webinar will take place on 7 May at 11:00 - 12:30 (CET, Rome time). Interpretation in French will be provided.
