Convenio sobre la Diversidad Biológica

Desde la aprobación del Protocolo de Nagoya, el Órgano Rector ha instado a las Partes Contratantes a asegurarse de que las medidas legislativas, administrativas o sobre políticas adoptadas para la aplicación tanto del Tratado como del Convenio sobre la Diversidad Biológica (o su Protocolo de Nagoya) sean coherentes y se apoyen mutuamente. Las dos secretarías han firmado un memorando de cooperación y organizan talleres conjuntos.

Comisión de Recursos Genéticos para la Alimentación y la Agricultura

La Comisión representó el foro en el que se negoció el Tratado y la colaboración continua aporta la coherencia de las políticas y la complementariedad de los dos órganos en la esfera de los recursos fitogenéticos para la alimentación y la agricultura. Los dos órganos aprobaron una Declaración conjunta de cooperación y existe una relación muy estrecha entre sus mesas y secretarías.

Movilización de recursos

Los miembros del Tratado han reconocido los resultados positivos de la estrategia de cooperación con organizaciones internacionales pertinentes para facilitar la aplicación de la Estrategia de financiación, en particular el Fondo de distribución de beneficios, y han reconocido la importancia y el valor de establecer asociaciones en lo relativo a la movilización de recursos, la programación y la eficacia del funcionamiento del Fondo.

Coherencia de las políticas

El Órgano Rector ha pedido al Secretario que establezca y mantenga la cooperación con otras organizaciones internacionales y tratados pertinentes sobre asuntos abarcados por el Tratado y que continúe participando en las reuniones pertinentes de la Unión Internacional para la Protección de las Obtenciones Vegetales, la Organización Mundial de la Salud, la Organización Mundial de la Propiedad Intelectual, la Organización Mundial del Comercio y la Convención Marco de las Naciones Unidas sobre el Cambio Climático, entre otros.
