Self-evaluation and Holistic Assessment of Climate Resilience of Farmers and Pastoralist (SHARP+)

Energy sources

This module examines the main sources of energy used for household consumption and for agricultural activities, such as lighting, cooking, heating and the operation of agricultural machinery.

Contribution to resilience

Access to diverse, reliable, and sustainable energy sources strengthens the autonomy and adaptability of agricultural households. Solutions such as solar energy, biodigesters, and the rational use of biomass reduce dependence on costly or non-renewable sources while limiting pressure on local natural resources. Sustainable energy not only secures agricultural and domestic activities, but also preserves ecosystems.
