Self-evaluation and Holistic Assessment of Climate Resilience of Farmers and Pastoralist (SHARP+)

Fishing

This module assesses water availability, accessibility and management practices for human consumption, irrigation and livestock.

Contribution to resilience

Constant access diversified and quality water sources and effective water management practices strengthen the ability of farming households to cope with periods of water stress. The implementation of techniques such as rainwater harvesting, optimized irrigation and the use of practices that promote water retention in soils, helps to secure agricultural production throughout the year. This contributes to the stability of livelihoods, the reduction of water-related conflicts, and the adaptation of farming systems to the effects of climate change.
