Material available in the Multilateral System

The Secretariat publishes on this page the information and notifications received on material available in the Multilateral System of Access and Benefit-sharing. The information has been received from Contracting Parties, the International Agriculture Research Centres of the Consultative Group on International Agricultural Research (CGIAR), other International Centres and natural and legal persons within the jurisdiction of Contracting Parties. A sample notification letter of material available in the Multilateral System can be downloaded from this page in four languages:

Since September 2017, the notification of material available can also be made through the registration of the material in the Global Information System, during the assignation of a Digital Object Identifier (DOI)

The Ministry of Agriculture and Food of France has notified that 719 accessions of plant genetic resources for food and agriculture, maintained in the French National Institute for Agricultural Research (INRA), have been included in the Multilateral System.

The Department of Plant Breeding and Plant Protection of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development on behalf of Poland has notified to the Secretariat of the International Treaty that 39.753 accessions listed in Annex 1 have been included in the Multilateral System

National Agriculture Genetic Resources Center (NAGRC)

The National Agricultural Biodiversity Conservation Committee, chaired by Secretary of Ministry of Agricultural Development of Nepal, has notified that 614 accessions of plant genetic resources for food and agriculture, maintained in National Agriculture Genetic Resources Center (NAGRC), have been included in the Multilateral System.

National Institute of Agrobiological Sciences (NIAS)

The Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries of Japan has notified three inclusions of materials to the Secretary of the International Treaty up to almost 40,000 Annex 1 crop, grass and forages accessions maintained by the Genebank of the National Institute of Agrobiological Sciences (NIAS). The latest notification was received on 22 November 2016 informed about the inclusion of additional 8,307 plant genetic resources by the National Agriculture and Rood Research Organization (NARO) Genebank. Detailed data on the composition of the collections and on the facilitated procedures to order the material can be obtained at https://www.gene.affrc.go.jp/?db_pl_mls

Le Burkina Faso, à travers la Commission Nationale de Gestion des Ressources Phytogénéques sous couvert du Ministère de la Recherche Scientifique et de l'Innovation, souhaite vous notifier que les collections des ressources phytogénétiques pour l'alimentation et l'agriculture énumérées à l'Annexe 1 et détenues au Burkina Faso, ont été incluses automatiquement dans le Système Multilatéral.

Uganda National Genebank

The National Focal Point of the International Treaty of Uganda has notified the Secretary of the International Treaty of seven hundred and sixty (760)  accessions  included in the multilateral system. These materials can be accessed from the Uganda National Genebank and they comprise:

  • Twenty three accessions of pearl millet
  • Sixty four accessions of sorghum 
  • Four hundred twenty nine accessions of finger millet
  • One hundred fifty one accessions of wild relatives of millets
  • Ninety three accessions of common beans

The collections held by Croatian Centre for Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs, located in Osijekand Zagreb. 2. The collections held by University of Zagreb, Faculty of Agriculture, located in Zagreb. 3. The collection held by College of Agriculture, located in Krizevci. Through the websites of Croatian Plant Genetic Resources Database (http://cpgrd.zsr.hr/) andEURISCO (http://eurisco.ecpgr.org/) detailed data on the composition of the collections are readilyavailable.
