The Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food of Spain, Luis Planas, has requested the international recognition of the World Olive Trees Genebank of Cordoba located in Cordoba (BMGO), in a letter addressed to the secretary of the International Treaty on Plant Genetic Resources for Food and Agriculture (ITPGRFA), Kent Nnadozie, the Minister has requested the start of negotiations to develop an agreement that would grant the olive genebank collection an international status.
