Tandem workshop for National Focal Points of the International Treaty and the Nagoya Protocol

The National Focal Points of the International Treaty on Plant Genetic Resources for Food and Agriculture (ITPGRFA) and the Nagoya Protocol on Access to Genetic Resources and the Fair and Equitable Sharing of Benefits Arising from their Utilization (Nagoya Protocol) will be meeting in Rome from 3 to 6 June to participate in a Tandem workshop organized by both Secretariats jointly with Bioversity International and the ABS Capacity Development Initiative.

The Workshop aims at increasing the understanding of the interface between the ITPGRFA and the Nagoya Protocol and help the participants to discuss some of the major issues related to the harmonious implementation of both international instruments, as well as to development concrete recommendations on how to improve coordination and collaboration at national and international levels.
