New capacity-building materials for local and indigenous agricultural communities

A new set of capacity-building materials on Farmers’ Rights has been published to support small-holder farmer leaders and decision makers, who live and depend in a direct way on family agriculture, better understand their rights. Booklet number four of the collection, which is divided by themes and includes a case study from Guatemala, is dedicated to illustrating the recognition of Farmers's Rights within the framework of the International Treaty on Plant Genetic Resources for Food and Agriculture.

In addition to informing the indigenous and local agricultural communities about Farmers' Rights, the booklets are expected to strengthen local communities in the implementation of these rights.
