لجنة التنسيق للدستور الغذائي في آسيا - المنسق الإقليمي اليابان
تأسست لجنة التنسيق لهيئة الدستور الغذائي في آسيا في الاجتماع الحادي عشر لهيئة الدستور الغذائي الذي عقد في روما، إيطاليا، في تموز/ يوليو 1976. وتم عقد اجتماعها الأول في نيودلهي (الهند) في كانون الثاني/ يناير 1977.
تهدف اليابان، بصفتها المنسق الإقليمي لآسيا، إلى تحقيق الأهداف التالية مع الحفاظ على القيم الأساسية للدستور الغذائي، أي الشمولية والتعاون وبناء الإجماع والشفافية
- تعزيز التعاون والتنسيق داخل المنطقة من خلال تسهيل تبادل الآراء، حتى يتسنى للأعضاء الآسيويين أن يكونوا على دراية جيدة ويشاركوا بشكل فعال في اللجنة وهيئاتها الفرعية؛ و
- تشجيع المناقشات المفتوحة والبناءة في لجنة التنسيق الإقليمية لتحديد القضايا الحالية والناشئة والحرجة المتعلقة بحماية صحة المستهلك وضمان الممارسات العادلة في تجارة الأغذية داخل المنطقة، ومعالجة هذه القضايا في الوقت المناسب.

Republic of Korea hosts the 3rd Asia-Pacific Food Regulatory Authority Summit
The third Asia-Pacific Food Regulatory Authority Summit (APFRAS), convened by the Government of the Republic of Korea, took place on 15 and 16 May 2025, Jeju Island, Republic of Korea, under the theme "Exploring Sustainable Food Safety". Republic of Korea celebrates Food Safety Day with “Safety, Consideration, Growth and Innovation” as the theme
To commemorate the 24th Food Safety Day, the Republic of Korea held an official ceremony on 8 May.
Since 2002, the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety (MFDS) has designated 14 May as Food Safety Day each year to promote public understanding, raise awareness, and foster a shared commitment to food safety.

ACT / Awareness study provides key insights on antimicrobial use and attitudes in Nepal
In Nepal, a recent study with a mixed approach of knowledge, attitude and practice (KAP) and behavioural science among the poultry farmers on antimicrobial use has helped researchers gather data that will help them understand not only where there are gaps in knowledge around antimicrobial resistance (AMR), but also the influences on relevant behaviours that will help authorities support farmers and veterinarians to work towards good practices.

India organizes training for food safety officials on the WTO-SPS Agreement and food safety
On 27 March 2025, the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) conducted an in-house training session on the World Trade Organization’s Agreement on Sanitary and Phytosanitary Measures (SPS Agreement) and its relevance to food safety, for approximately 50 of its technical officials.

ACT / Pakistan endorses its 2nd National Action Plan on antimicrobial resistance with support from the ACT project
Pakistan has successfully developed its 2nd National Action Plan (NAP) on antimicrobial resistance (AMR), which will be active to 2028.
AMR presents a growing threat to global health, food safety, and sustainable development. Symposium raises Codex profile in Japan
An online symposium, "Understanding the Codex Alimentarius Commission – Transition of Food Safety Standards Administration," was held on November 19, 2024, in Tokyo, Japan, to increase public knowledge of the Codex Alimentarius Commission's work.

Greater food industry engagement in Codex encouraged at workshop in Singapore
On 14 November 2024, Food Industry Asia (FIA) organized a capacity building workshop as part of its annual Members Day event. The session emphasized the critical role of the Codex Alimentarius Commission in harmonizing international food trade and ensuring food safety. Over 70 senior representatives from the food industry across Southeast Asia, Australia and New Zealand attended the event, which was held in Singapore.

CCASIA Codex Workshop on Food Control Systems and Risk Assessment Held in Harbin, China
From 6 to 9 November 2024, over 40 delegates from Bangladesh, China, Indonesia, Japan, Laos, Malaysia, Mongolia, Myanmar, Republic of Korea, Singapore, Thailand and Viet Nam attended the CCASIA Codex “Workshop on Food Control Systems and Risk Assessment” held in Harbin, Heilongjiang Province, China.
