GENERAL INFORMATION

The 26th Session of the Codex Committee on Food Import and Export Inspection and Certification Systems (CCFICS26) will be held from 1-5 May 2023, at the kind invitation of the Government of Australia.
The venue for CCFICS26 is Hotel Grand Chancellor, Hobart, Tasmania, Australia. Further information on meeting logistics will be provided in due course.

CCFICS EQUIVALENCE VIRTUAL WORKSHOP ON 21 SEPTEMBER 2022

In preparation for CCFICS26, the electronic Working Group (eWG) for Equivalence invites Codex Members and Observers to a CCFICS Equivalence virtual workshop.
The workshop takes place on 21 September 2022, 12.00pm to 2.30pm CET and is open to all Codex Members and Observers.
The workshop will address the following workstreams of the eWG:

Workstream 1: Draft guidelines on recognition and maintenance of equivalence of national food control systems.

Workstream 2: Draft consolidated Codex guidelines related to equivalence.

The objectives of the workshop are:

• Hold a focussed discussion on outstanding issues based on the last round of comments received on Workstream 1, with the view to facilitating completion of the work at CCFICS26.
• Hold a focussed discussion on the comments received on Workstream 2 and consider how to proceed with further consolidation ahead of CCFICS26.

The workshop will be held on the Zoom platform in English and Spanish.
