International Day of Plant Health 2026 - Impact report

The IPPC Secretariat is pleased to share the International Day of Plant Health (IDPH) 2026 impact report. The report highlights some of the activities by various groups, organizations and communities around the world, to observe IDPH 2026. This year's theme was Plant Biosecurity for Food Security and Nutrition. Activities included parades, exhibitions, photo contests and seminars to raise awareness about the importance of plant health.

The One Country One Priority Product (OCOP) initiative, launched by FAO in 2021, supports countries in transforming their agrifood systems through the promotion of Special Agricultural Products (SAPs); culturally rooted, nutrition-rich, and climate-resilient crops with untapped market potential. Aligned with the FAO Strategic Framework and the four betters (better production, better nutrition, a better environment, a better life), OCOP fosters inclusive and sustainable food systems.
