CLCPRO and CRC Launch Interregional Training on Spraying Drones in Oman
25/01/2026
Muscat (Sultanate of Oman) - The Commission for Controlling the Desert Locust in the Western Region (CLCPRO), in collaboration with the Commission for Controlling the Desert Locust in the Central Region (CRC), launch an interregional training course dedicated to the use of spraying drones in Desert Locust control operations.
This training, which brings together drone focal points from the member countries of both Commissions, is part of the gradual integration of innovative technologies into Desert Locust control management. It follows the finalization of the spraying drone model, now ready to be deployed in field operations.
Over five days, participants will exchange on the technical, operational and safety aspects related to the use of these drones, particularly in terms of targeted spraying, environmental protection and strengthening the effectiveness of interventions. This initiative also aims to harmonize practices between regions and to strengthen national capacities in countries hosting gregarious breeding areas.
