Commission for Controlling the Desert Locust in North-West Africa (CLCPANO)

The Commission for Controlling the Desert Locust in North-West Africa (CLCPANO) was a regional body established under the aegis of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) in the 1970s, with the objective of coordinating desert locust surveillance, prevention and control activities in North-West Africa. It brought together Algeria, Libya, Morocco, Tunisia and Mauritania, and served as a framework for technical cooperation, information exchange and coordinated actions to address transboundary desert locust threats in the region.
