Objectifs de développement durable et les contributions des Champs-écoles 

En septembre 2015, les 193 États membres des Nations unies ont adopté l'Agenda 2030 pour le développement durable, articulé autour de 17 objectifs mondiaux. Les objectifs de développement durable (ODD) guident les actions des gouvernements, des agences internationales, de la société civile et d'autres institutions entre 2015 et 2030. Les ODD visent à mettre fin à la pauvreté et à la faim, tout en restaurant et en gérant durablement les ressources naturelles. Les CEP développent les compétences et les connaissances des producteurs, leur permettant de créer des systèmes de production plus efficaces et durables et de contribuer à la réalisation des ODD.

  • FFS promote sustainable agriculture and enhance food and nutrition security through increased, better-quality food production.

  • FFS can impact many areas: integrating nutrition education for mothers and children; proposing improved sanitation practices to tackle HIV-AIDS, and vector-borne and water-borne diseases; introducing IPM to reduce pesticide poisoning; and imparting best practices for livestock production.

  • FFS provide hands-on education to adult farmers to improve livelihoods.

  • FFS reduce reliance on and overuse of external inputs. They facilitate understanding of ecosystems, thus reducing pollution of natural resources, protecting water-related ecosystems and increasing water-use efficiency.
