It has gained traction as one way to help bridge the significant financing gap in agrifood systems. This latest Investment Brief from the FAO Investment Centre, prepared in collaboration with the European Union, aims to help public and private investors make effective use of blended finance in agrifood systems.

The escalation of conflict in the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Middle East has sharply increased risks to global energy, fertilizer, and agrifood systems. Immediate measures such as developing alternative trade routes, strengthening market monitoring, providing financial support for farmers, and offering targeted aid for vulnerable countries are needed to stabilize supply chains.
