The Forum was held in Almaty, the Republic of Kazakhstan, from 3 to 5 September.

Rome – The benchmark of world food commodity prices remained largely unchanged in August, as increases in meat, sugar and vegetable oil prices offset declines in cereal and dairy quotations, according to the new report released by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) Friday.

Rome – The FAO Food Price Index, a benchmark for world food commodity prices, averaged 130.1 points in July 2025, up 1.6 percent from June, driven primarily by rising international prices of meat and vegetable oils. Despite this monthly increase, the index remains 18.8 percent below its peak in March 2022, although 7.6 percent higher than its level in July 2024.

The OECD-FAO Agricultural Outlook 2025–2034 provides an assessment of the ten-year prospects for agricultural commodity and fish markets at national, regional, and global levels. The report highlights how rising incomes and urbanization are increasing demand for animal-source foods in middle-income countries, while also offering insights into pathways for eliminating undernourishment and reducing greenhouse gas emissions. It is a collaborative effort between the OECD and FAO, prepared with inputs from Member countries and international commodity organizations.
