Comité Coordinador Regional del Codex para Asia (CCASIA) - Coordinador regional: Japón
El Comité Coordinador para Asia se creó en el 11.º período de sesiones de la Comisión del Codex Alimentarius celebrado en Roma (Italia), en julio de 1976. Su primera reunión se celebró en Nueva Delhi (India) en enero de 1977.
El coordinador regional trabaja en el Ministerio de Agricultura, Silvicultura y Pesca del Japón.
Japón, en su calidad de coordinador regional para Asia, aspira a alcanzar los siguientes objetivos, manteniendo al mismo tiempo los valores fundamentales del Codex, es decir, la inclusión, la colaboración, la creación de consenso y la transparencia:
- Fomentar la colaboración y la coordinación dentro de la región facilitando el intercambio de opiniones, de modo que los miembros asiáticos puedan estar bien informados y participar eficazmente en la Comisión y sus órganos subsidiarios; y
- Promover debates abiertos y constructivos en el Comité Coordinador Regional para identificar las cuestiones actuales, emergentes y críticas relativas a la protección de la salud del consumidor y la garantía de prácticas justas en el comercio de alimentos dentro de la región, y abordar estas cuestiones de manera oportuna.

On the occasion of the World Food Safety Day, a book titled, “Food Safety is Everyone’s Business – Even Yours and Mine” was unveiled in Mumbai by Padma Vibhushan Dr R. A. On 6 June 2026, Milon School, in collaboration with Native Foodscape Foundation, organized an educational visit to the DIMUL Central Dairy Plant as part of World Food Safety Day celebrations.

World Food Safety Day / Japan food safety association event organized
The Japanese Food Safety Management Association (JFSM) is organizing a World Food Safety Day event. Aligned with this year’s theme, “From burden to solutions – safe food everywhere,” the event will explore challenges (burdens) surrounding food safety and their solutions.
The event will focus on the entire food chain—from food production and manufacturing to distribution, retail, and consumers—and encourage engagement in multifaceted discussions designed to provide practical insights for all stakeholders involved in the food chain.

World Food Safety Day 2026 - Asia and Pacific Edition

In 2026, Zensho Co. Ltd. participated in World Food Safety Day for the fourth consecutive year.

World Food Safety Day / India dairy promotes awareness and eloquence
AmulFed Dairy, Gandhinagar, is celebrating World Food Safety Day 2026 through a week-long series of awareness, engagement, and capacity-building activities. Republic of Korea celebrates its 25th food safety day
In 2002, the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety (MFDS) of the Republic of Korea designated 14 May as Food Safety Day, and has celebrated the Day every year since to raise public awareness and understanding of food safety and to build social consensus on its importance.

The 6th Global Conference on Foodborne AMR successfully held in Seoul, highlighting the achievements of the ACT Project
The 6th Global Conference on Foodborne Antimicrobial Resistance (GCFA) was successfully held on 13 May 2026 in Seoul, Republic of Korea.
The conference has become an important international platform for discussing antimicrobial resistance (AMR) in the non-human sectors, particularly within food and agriculture systems, applying a One Health approach.
