非洲食品法典區域協調委員會 (CCAFRICA) - 區域協調員:烏干達

“非洲协调委员会”由食品法典委员会于 1972 年建立,其任务是“在制定与非洲地区相关的标准时进行一般协调”。该委员会于 1974 年在粮农组织(FAO)举行了第一次会议,有 19 个国家出席这次会议。

随着新区域协调员开始其任期,在非州大陆开放贸易之际,2020 年 5 月生效的《非洲大陆自由贸易区协议》(AfCFTA)在整个非州大陆加强了对管理卫生和植物检疫措施(尤其是食品安全)的高效系统的需求。

区域协调员设在乌干达国家标准局,这是贸易、工业和合作部下属的法定机构,作为其使命的一部分,负责监督标准的推广和使用。

作为区域协调员,乌干达计划通过调查、网络研讨会和讲习班的形式与各国密切合作,以确定需求和新出现的问题,提高对优先食品安全问题和法典标准的认识。一项试点研究还将从更广泛的角度探讨整个地区的食品安全状况。通过加强与非州联盟非洲标准化组织和非洲大陆自由贸易区秘书处等区域机构的接触,乌干达还希望加强该地区的宣传工作。

Nigerian students plan food safety awareness raising on safe meat production

In Nigeria’s state of Lagos, students are taking part in a project about training in food safety and good handling practices. They will celebrate World Food Safety Day as part of their training programme and plan activities at a local abattoir. Preparations underway for Kenya’s third observance of World Food Safety Day

Malawi launches Codex Trust Fund Project to build national capacity

 Malawi launched its Codex Trust Fund Project on 1 April 2021 at the Sunbird Capital Hotel in Lilongwe. Kenya / Increasing engagement in Codex by building up National Committee

Kenya, in an effort to streamline and increase efficiency for participation in Codex work recently reconstituted its National Codex Committee.
