On February 20th 2018, the Government of Timor-Leste officially became the 188th Member of the Codex Alimentarius Commission. In 2016 the Codex Alimentarius Commission established a Task Force on antimicrobial resistance (AMR) which will hold its first meeting in Jeju, 27 November – 1 December 2017. Seconded officers provide a valuable contribution to the work of the Secretariat. There are currently five food standards officers in the Codex Secretariat.
