Chad is among the eight African countries selected to receive capacity development support under the third phase of the Global Strategy to Improve Agricultural and Rural Statistics (GSARS3), implemented by FAO over the period September 2024 to February 2027. GSARS3 builds on the methodologies, training materials, and lessons learned from the first two phases of the programme. The third phase operates under the Second Global Action Plan framework and is closely aligned with the 50x2030 Initiative, whose successful implementation requires a strong foundation of national agricultural statistical capacities. Under GSARS3, Chad receives Basic Training in Agricultural Statistics, aimed at providing foundational knowledge and skills to national statistical officers and contributing to building a critical mass of staff engaged in agricultural data collection and production.
