Capacity building on statistical data processing and analysis in Zimbabwe

Under the framework of the Global Strategy to improve Agricultural and Rural Statistics,the first module of the TOOLS package was held in Zimbabwe from November 7th to 11th of 2022 in the FAO Office of Harare.
The objective of this training was to amplify the ability of the technical staff working on agricultural statistics to produce first-rate statistics by launching programming and data processing and analysis of agricultural survey data with the aid of STATA software.
The class was equally composed of employees from ZIMSTAT-Agricultural Statistics and Ministry of Agriculture (Strategic Planning and Business Development, Livestock Production and Land Administration and Management units) with a slight majority of females (64%) over males (36%).
The participants were prompted to exchange their newfound knowledge and commendable practices with others in the agricultural and rural statistics production chain, which enabled all to acquire the essential skills for data processing and analysis.
