Capacity building training on statistical data processing and analysis in DRC

As part of the activities relating to the Global Strategy to Improve Agricultural and Rural Statistics (GSARS II), a training workshop in data processing and analysis tools was held from February 6th to 17th, 2023 in DRC.

the training was opened by the representatives of the minister of agriculture, Mr. Kandu Kasongo, the FAO representative, Mr. Henri Paul Eloma, and Mrs. Lyna Mukwa, the DRC FAO office focal point for the organization of the workshop. this workshop brought together 15 participants, including 4 women.

The workshop aimed to promote a quality approach in the processing and analysis of data within the national statistical system of DRC.

Data quality control was at the core of the topic that drives the workshop. The participants acquired some solid basics in programming, procedures, and statistical processing techniques to ensure the quality control of agricultural survey data.

The participants appreciated the objectives and the content of the training and promised to meet several challenges such as the quality control of survey data, the automation of statistical tasks and the timely availability of statistical indicators.
