First Global Steering Committee meeting

On March 10th, 2022, the first meeting of the Global Steering Committee (GSC) of the Global Strategy to Improve Agricultural and Rural Statistics took place. 

The meeting was attended by eight members of the GSC and the Global Office and representatives of the three partner organizations (FAO, Paris21 and UNECA). 

During the meeting Oliver Chinganya (UNECA) was elected as chair of the GSC and the ToR of the GSC were discussed. 

The Global Office (FAO) and the two implementing partners (PARIS21 and UNECA) presented the Action Plan for Africa 2021-2023, which was subsequently adopted by the GSC. The work programme for 2022 and the budget was also discussed and endorsed by the GSC. 

The next meeting of the GSC will take place in June 2022.
