Hand-on training on sampling design, weighting, and estimations in Sudan

Under the framework of the Global Strategy to Improve Agricultural and Rural Statistics (GSARS II) a training on sampling design, weighting, and estimations was held in Sudan from March 12th to March 16th 2023.
The training was hosted by the Statistics Division of the FAO at the representation of the FAO in Khartoum.
The training was facilitated by Soufiane Mestari, a statistician at the Statistics Division of the FAO, for the benefit of ten participants belonging to the Ministry of Agriculture and the Central Bureau of Statistics in Sudan.
The training was conducted over theoretical courses and practical exercises, covering a large wide of topics, among others: concepts and definitions, sampling methods, sampling design, and calibration methods.
The training was appreciated by the participants due to the richness of its technical content and the large scope of software that it proposes (SPSS, R, and Stata).
