The training was led by Maurice Taondyandé, a statistician at the FAO Statistics Division and it was aimed to train Guinean Bissau agricultural statistical system stakeholders in descriptive analysis using the SPSS statistical software and the calculation of the indicators of the Comprehensive Africa Agriculture Development Program (CAADP).

There were fifteen participants, 20% female, who came from the Directorate of Agricultural Statistics, the National Institute of Statistics, the National Institute of Agricultural Research and the General Directorate of Agricultural Planning.

After the workshop’s opening by the Assistant to the FAO Representative in Guinea Bissau and the Director of Agricultural Statistics, the training took place over seven days in the form of theoretical presentations and hands-on sessions.

The participants all appreciated the relevance of the training in relation to their needs. They indicated that they had acquired new valuable knowledge for the descriptive analysis of agricultural survey data and the calculation of indicators.
