National workshop on MSF and hand-on training in weighting and estimations in Togo

Under the framework of the Global Strategy to improve agricultural and rural statistics (GSARS), a training course on Sampling design, weighting, and estimations was held from March 6 to 15, 2023.
The training was led by Desire Nkezabahizi, a statistician at the FAO Statistics Division and took place in the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Rural Development.
Out of the 11 participants in the workshop, 18% were female and they came from the Department of Agricultural Statistics, Informatics and Documentation from the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Rural Development – DSID, Ministry of Maritime Economy, Fisheries and Coastal Protection, and National Institute of Statistics and Economic and Demographic Studies – INSEED.
The participants all appreciated the relevance of the training in relation to their needs. They indicated that they had improved their knowledge of the sampling, weighting and estimation techniques of agricultural surveys and started Master Sampling Frame.
