Comité du Codex sur les systèmes d'inspection et de certification des importations et des exportations alimentaires (CCFICS)

Mandat:(a) Elaborer des principes et des directives pour les systèmes d'inspection et de certification des importations et des exportations de denrées alimentaires en vue d'harmoniser les méthodes et procédures qui protègent la santé des consommateurs, assurent la loyauté des pratiques commerciales et facilitent le commerce international des denrées alimentaires;
(b) élaborer des principes et des directives pour l'application de mesures par les autorités compétentes des pays exportateurs et importateurs, afin de garantir, le cas échéant, que les denrées alimentaires soient bien conformes aux prescriptions, notamment aux règlements sanitaires;
(c) élaborer des directives pour l'utilisation, en temps et lieu utiles, de systèmes d'assurance de la qualité , afin de garantir que les denrées alimentaires soient conformes aux prescriptions et de promouvoir la reconnaissance de ces systèmes en vue de faciliter le commerce des produits alimentaires en vertu d'accords bilatéraux/multilatéraux conclus entre pays;
(d) élaborer des directives et critères se rapportant aux modes de présentation, aux mentions et aux langues utilisées dans les certificats officiels dont les pays pourraient avoir besoin en vue d'une harmonisation à l'échelle internationale;
(e) formuler des recommandations en ce qui concerne les échanges de renseignements ayant trait au contrôle des importations/exportations de denrées alimentaires;
(f) tenir des consultations, en cas de besoin, avec d'autres groupes internationaux dont les activités concernent les systèmes d'inspection et de certification des denrées alimentaires;
(g) examiner toute autre question qui lui sera soumise par la Commission en rapport avec les systèmes d'inspection et de certification des denrées alimentaires.

On entend par assurance de la qualité, l'ensemble des actions préétablies et systématiques nécessaires pour donner la confiance appropriée en ce qu'un produit ou service satisfera aux exigences données relatives à la qualité (ISO-8402 Qualité - Vocabulaire).
