India’s KAHER Institute of Physiotherapy, Belagavi organizes World Food Safety Day awareness

The KAHER Institute of Physiotherapy, Belagavi, India, organized a “Virtual Awareness Programme-Panel Discussion” on the occasion of “World Food Safety Day" on 7 June 2021. In line with the theme for this year, ‘Safe food today for a healthy tomorrow’, the Literary and Education committee of the institute organized a virtual programme and had speakers such as Chef Vijay Bhaskar, Vice President, Indian Food Culinary Association, who spoke on the importance of this day and gave an overview of Food Quality Control and Assurance.

The next speaker was Dr Ashok Patil, Professor and Head of the Department of Ayurveda Community Medicine. He provided an overview of Principles of Nutrition in Ayurveda Classics. Dr Harpreet Kour, a certified sports nutritionist spoke on the topic of Food Labels and Gut Microbiome and Dr Dhaval Chivate took a session on Food and Exercise.

More than 200 attendees participated and took advantage of the programme. Feedback from both the attendees and the speakers was overwhelming, according to the organizers. The programme was organized under the guidance of Dr Sanjiv Kumar, Principal and Dr Vinuta Deshpande, Assistant Professor and Chair of the Literacy and Education committee, KAHER Institute of Physiotherapy, Belagavi.
